Grandma Gatewood: Ohio’s Legendary Hiker
Hear the remarkable story of Emma Gatewood at the Rocky River Historical Society meeting on May 8 at 7:00 PM at the Rocky River Senior Center; 21012 Hilliard Boulevard; Rocky River, Ohio. Grandma Gatewood was the first woman to solo thru-hike the Appalachian Trail in 1955!

Thursday, May 22, 2014 at 1p.m. come take a trip through Ohio History with Bette Lou Higgins at the Baldwin-Wallace Institute for Learning at Retirement. Hear some stories from the past that will help you appreciate our state’s heritage. Classes will be held at St. Andrews Church in Olmsted Falls.
